About the Economics Department at CASE
The Economics Department is a center for sophisticated research and teaching in economics, management and public policy.
For our undergraduates, we run a highly regarded major that attracts some of the best students on the CASE campus. For the MBA program, we offer a diverse portfolio of classes ranging from core micro and macro to elective classes in International Economics, Health Economics, the Economics of Organizations, the Economics of Negotiation and Conflict Resolution, and the Economics of Technological Change.
As a Department we are committed to sustaining a stimulating intellectual environment for our faculty. We rely on Cleveland's central location and easy air connections to the coasts to bring in top scholars from around the country for our on-going seminar series in Markets, Organizations, and Public Policy (MOPPS). The seminar series deals with applied microeconomic topics and hosts attracts participants from across the university. In addition to the formal seminars, we have a regular Lunchtime Economic Seminar Series (L.E.S.S.) that offers a venue for faculty to present ideas very early in the research process. The vibrancy of our seminars is central to sustaining the kind of collaborative and interactive research environment that makes for a strong intellectual community of scholars.
