Scholarships and Fellowships

The Weatherhead School offers various scholarships and fellowships. These awards are merit-based and are granted to full-time candidates upon admission to the program. Awards are based on the strength of your academic and personal credentials and the belief that your attendance at the school would add to the diversity and enrich the professional achievement of the incoming class. Scholarships are not based on financial need.

Scholarships are provided for the first academic year and are renewable for the second year if the student maintains a 3.0 cumulative grade point average, full-time enrollment at the school, and good status within the academic policies. Students are notified of a scholarship award in their admission letter.

Candidates are encouraged to complete the application process early for maximum scholarship consideration. To be considered, applicants must complete the Financial Aid Checklist form that is included in the application materials.

MBA candidates

Approximately 66% of the incoming full-time MBA class received some amount of scholarship assistance. Full-time MBA candidates will be considered for merit-based scholarships as well as Weatherhead Scholarships.

Students in the 47-hour accelerated program have their scholarship disbursed in three equal payments and those in the 57-hour program receive their award disbursed in two equal payments during the first year. The scholarship is automatically renewed for the second year, as long as the student is in good academic standing at the end of the first year.

Part-time (evening or Saturday) MBA candidates

Corporate tuition reimbursement plan (CTR) -- Due to the large number of part-time students who receive tuition reimbursement benefits from their employer, the Weatherhead School has implemented a special tuition payment option.

Students who receive at least 50% employer tuition reimbursement may apply for the CTR plan to cover tuition costs. The CTR plan allows a student to register without paying any tuition costs up-front (normal procedure requires one-half payment at the time of registration). Tuition payment is deferred until six weeks after the end of the semester. Students receive additional information about this plan, including how to enroll, at the time of admission.

Students who receive less than 50% reimbursement may choose to explore the various loan programs available.
